Disposals and transport contingency framework – Industry called upon to tender

Published on Friday 28 January 2011 at 16:40

Animal Health and Defra have issued an Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) notice inviting tenders for a framework agreement for Carcase Disposal & Transport services.

ADR transport/haulage providers, incineration and rendering providers are invited to tender for the framework agreement, which will be available for use by Central Government Departments, Agencies, Devolved Administrations, NDPB’s and Local Authorities. The main intended use of the framework agreement is for responding to outbreaks of exotic notifiable animal disease. The framework could also be used for carcase disposal and transport during other types of incidents or emergencies.

The tender process requires prospective suppliers to answer a series of questions relating to their organisation. These responses will then be evaluated and following this, a range of successful providers will be added to a contingency framework agreement allowing services to be called off when required.

For companies interested in applying for this tender, more information is available on Defra’s E-Tendering system, “Bravo”. You will need to click “view current opportunities” and click on “Carcase Disposal and Transport - Contingency Contract”. You will need to register on Bravo in order to access the full tender documentation and instructions.

Bravo can be accessed via: https://defra.bravosolution.co.uk

Please note that any questions relating to the tender need to be submitted online via the Bravo messaging system. There is also a phone number for any technical issues users may have with the Bravo system – for example, obtaining logon details etc.

The deadline for any questions relating to the tender and associated documentation is Monday 7th February 2011.

The deadline for final tender submissions is 12:00pm on Monday 7th March 2011.
