Procurement proposals and stakeholder meetings

Proposals

Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA) is seeking views from private veterinary practitioners and the farming industry on our proposed approach to competitive tendering for TB testing services in England. Additionally, we would like to share our thinking on developing a more collaborative and strategic approach to working with private veterinary practices who carry out vital work on our behalf.

We are continuing discussions with the Welsh Government on the approach that will be taken in Wales and will make a further announcement in due course.

The material below is available in both PowerPoint and pdf format. You can also click on the podcasts to listen to introductions to the presentation material, provided by Simon Hall, AHVLA Veterinary Director, and Nina Purcell, AHVLA Chief Operating Officer. A podcast is basically a recording and is similar to listening to a radio programme.

Feedback

You can now view summary reports of the feedback we have received from the stakeholder meetings and the September/October online survey:

Thank you to everyone who took the time to comment. Feedback on the proposed TB testing approach will help inform and shape any recommendations made to the Minister on the procurement of TB services. We are also reflecting on views around opportunities for partnership working, although we have no immediate intention of implementing any changes.

You can still comment generally on the TB tender proposals by using the comments box on the feedback page.
